Gemma Chalmers
Gemma is a Raglan based artist from the UK. A graphic design graduate from the Southwest of England, she has worked on and off for a leading contemporary artist as an assistant and specialist painter since 2007 and now resides in Raglan where she is producing more of her own work.
Gemma’s work is a mixture of graphic yet fluid linear detail, and saturated water colour. Her recent work attempts, mostly in an abstract manner to capture a sense of the beauty, fragility and power exemplified, in this natural perfection present in our environment and to explore the way self mimicry is present in the products and forces of nature.
