Making their own Xmas decorations

A group of young artists came together last Wednesday to exhibit their clay creations at the Old School gallery. This group, aged 3-11yrs, spent 8 weeks under the guidance of ceramic artist Clare Wimmer learning the art of clay and all the steps required.
What was unique about this course was that Clare allowed them to work with white clay which produced some wonderful results. The children made porcelin Christmas decorations for the tree as well as a selection of platters, cups and ornaments.
The gallery was bought to life with the free spirited works of the children. Clare gave the children the opportunity to experience a true exhibition to celebrate the process they had been involved in.
One couldn’t help wondering whether these could be some of Raglan’s future artists.
