Using native timbers and materials, and following villa plans typical of 19th century New Zealand, local crafts men hand-built Brooklands for a pioneering farming family. Their 1200 hectare farm is now a bird-filled forested parkland which Brooklands guests may roam and explore. The homestead remains at the forest’s edge, softened and scented by cottage gardens and framed by old trees.
